The holidays are rolling in, and with them come all the sparkly cards, glittery trees, and saccharine cheer we can handle. But this year, I’m decking the halls with something a little different — a celebration of the body, art, and humor all wrapped up in one feminist bow.
Introducing: my Breast-mas cards.
Yes, you read that right. Each card features a print of my own body, reimagined as a Christmas tree — part self-portrait, part statement, part tongue-in-cheek holiday spirit. It’s art that makes you smirk, pause, and maybe even reflect on how we see (and share) our bodies.
When I first created body prints, I saw them as an exploration of form, presence, and identity — a playful reclaiming of the body through imprint. But when I saw the shape evolve into something that resembled a tree — something alive, rooted, growing — I couldn’t help but laugh. It felt like the most unexpected, joyful metaphor for womanhood I could imagine.
So, I painted myself in green, yellow, brown and red, and Breast-mas was born.
I like to think of these cards as a small rebellion against the airbrushed, hyper-commercialized “perfect holiday.” They’re cheeky, yes — but they’re also deeply personal. They celebrate the body as it is, abstracted, not as it’s edited or idealized. They’re a nod to body autonomy, to self-love, and to the simple joy of turning your own image into art — and then mailing it out with confidence.
Each notecard is just $1 — because celebrating yourself shouldn’t come with a luxury price tag. Send them to your boldest friends, your fellow artists, or anyone who appreciates a bit of feminist mischief in their mailbox.
So here’s to Breast-mas: to bodies, art, and audacious holiday cheer. May your days be merry, bright, and unapologetically you.
