Welcome to a colorful conversation with Heide Fasnacht , an artist who blends diverse elements in her studio to create captivating works. Read on about her insights on art, accessibility, and the impact of arts leaders. ✨

🤩 What’s your favorite thing about what you do?

When working in the studio I combine seemingly disparate elements to make my work (Einstein’s “combinatorial play”) and when they start to become more than the sum total of their parts it is thrilling.

🌟What is one way arts leaders can enhance their impact?

I am not an arts leader so cannot speak from experience. Perhaps the general public might be informed that art galleries and some museums are free. That they are welcome. That they can make the experience theirs.

💡What is the greatest need facing your organization and/or the arts today?

The arts need money. Period.

🌈Why is making art accessible important?

When art is accessible people like it. They have meaningful personal experiences with it. I know this because people not in the arts who got up the nerve to walk into a gallery were absolutely thrilled by it and told me so.
